Trollbox-Electron Status

Trollbox-Electron was removed from Github and closed-sourced because the only other contributor caused problems a lot more often than fixing them, if there is even anything they did well.

In general, they never asked me if I was already working on a feature or had work I didn’t commit yet before writing a PR and then complaining that I made a commit that conflicts with their PR. Their code was also written more like patches than code that would stay in the application, so I ended up rewriting it eventually most of the time. They also had a strange preference for CommonJS, which is being depreciated by more and more libraries. They tried to convert the entire application to CommonJS despite this for some reason.

They have a fork up which from what I know is fine on the user end, but if their code is still so messy, I don’t think anyone but them will want to work on it. Not even with a 10 foot pole.

I am still working on the original, and I will release builds when I have added all the features I wanted to and fixed all the known bugs.
